Joseph Salmeron Identified in Fatal Lafayette Crash on Highway 24
LAFAYETTE, CA (January 19, 2023) – Officers identified 24-year-old Joseph Salmeron of El Sobrante as the victim who died in a crash on Highway 24 on January 9.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Oak Hill Road around 10:25 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was a passenger in a Toyota Yaris that was traveling on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the SUV left the roadway and struck a tree in the center median.
As a result, Salmeron suffered severe injuries in the incident. Paramedics soon arrived and took Salmeron and the driver to a hospital, where Salmeron died.
The driver had life-threatening injuries.
