Joseph Christenson Dead after Mesa Car Accident

 
MESA, AZ (March 19, 2024) — A man identified as 45-year-old Joseph Christenson died in a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday, March 9.
 
According to the Mesa police, the crash took place near Gilbert Road and Southern Avenue at about 5:40 a.m. Saturday.
 
Emergency crews responded to the area and found a passenger car, truck, and Valley Metro bus involved in the incident.
 
Mesa police said Christenson drove east on Southern Avenue. Then he crossed the center line into westbound traffic. After that, he crashed head-on with a Metro bus, spun out, and collided with a truck.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Christenson dead at the scene.
 
There were no injuries reports from anyone in the bus and truck.
 
Police continue to determine if a medical emergency or intoxication played a role in the crash.
 
Authorities closed the area while police investigated the crash. They later reopened the area on Saturday afternoon.
