Jose Valles Fatally Injured in Hit-and-Run on Onyx Drive South

 
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX (October 23, 2024) — 64-year-old Jose Valles died in a hit-and-run on Sunday, October 13.
 
According to the North Richland Hills Police Department, the incident occurred in the 6400 block of Onyx Drive South late Sunday.
 
His family said Valles stood beside his truck parked on the street in front of their home. Then a vehicle struck him and kept driving.
 
North Richland Hills police officers responded to the scene. They discovered Valles in life-threatening condition including a head injury. Paramedics then transported him to a hospital where he died.
 
The suspect fled the scene without checking and helping Valles. Witnesses then identified and police arrested the hit-and-run driver.
 
Authorities charge the suspect with intoxication manslaughter, collision involving death, and leaving the scene failing to render aid.
 
Police did not immediately release the identity of the suspect.
