Jose Espinoza Involved in Edinburg Accident with Bicyclist on University Drive
EDINBURG, TX (September 14, 2023) – Officers with the Edinburg Police Department arrested 66-year-old Jose Espinoza of Edinburg after a hit-and-run accident on University Drive on September 5.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Sugar Road at approximately 11:00 AM. Based on a report, Espinoza was driving a silver Chrysler 300 near the intersection at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he struck a bicycle in the lanes. He then fled the scene, without giving aid to the victim.
As a result, the bicyclist sustained minor injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.
Officers arrested Espinoza for hit and run.
