PHOENIX, AZ (November 1, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 41-year-old Jose Aranda Chavarria who died in a pedestrian accident on 24th Street on October 22.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at McDowell Road around 7:30 PM. Based on a report, the victim was crossing 24th Street outside of any marked crosswalks at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a passing car struck him.
 
As a result, Chavarria suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took him to the hospital, where he later died.
 
The driver of the car stayed on the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
