Jorge Ochoa Identified in Fatal Accident Involving Disabled Car in Zillah

 
ZILLAH, WA (July 8, 2024) – Officials identified 36-year-old Jorge Ochoa of Toppenish who died in an accident on 82 Freeway on June 11.
 
The Washington State Patrol said the collision happened at approximately 7:30 AM. Based on a report, Ochoa’s vehicle was disabled and parked along the freeway’s shoulder before the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a Ford Explorer traveling east struck it. Crews said Ochoa was sitting in his car without his seatbelt on.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Ford, 33-year-old Sean D. Orrin of Kennewick was not hurt. He was wearing a seatbelt.
 
The state patrol does not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
