Jorge Lopez Identified in Fatal Federal Way Crash on 5 Freeway

 
FEDERAL WAY, WA (September 5, 2023) – Officers identified 25-year-old Jorge Salas Lopez of Seattle who died in a crash on 5 Freeway on July 9.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at South 336th Street just before 4:00 AM. Based on a report, Lopez was driving a silver Acura Integra on the northbound side of the freeway at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the Acura struck a Chevy truck, causing both vehicles to come to rest on the right shoulder of the freeway.
 
As a result, Lopez and his two passengers suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officers only identified the two victims as a 27-year-old Federal Way resident and a 25-year-old Seattle resident.
 
The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old Auburn resident, was not hurt in the crash.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
