LAS VEGAS, NV (November 7, 2024) — Authorities arrested 60-year-old Jonas Villaverde after a DUI accident on Thursday, October 24.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred at about 11:37 p.m. on West Flamingo Road and Cameron Street.
 
LVMPD said a maroon Ford Maverick driven by Villaverde traveled west on Flamingo Road. Then a man started crossing the street near a marked crosswalk.
 
The front of the Ford struck the man on his right side. The impact of the incident projected him forward onto the road.
 
Police said Villaverde stayed at the scene and displayed signs of impairment. They arrested him on DUI-related charges.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 34-year-old pedestrian to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit. He received treatment for life-threatening injuries.
