Wrong-Way Driver Johnny Munoz Identified in Fatal Accident in Glasscock County

 
GLASSCOCK COUNTY, TX (November 22, 2024) – Authorities identified 21-year-old Johnny Munoz of Big Spring who died in a wrong-way accident on Highway 87 on November 10.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at mile marker 400 at approximately 2:00 AM. Based on a report, Munoz was driving a 2021 Jeep Cherokee south in the highway’s northbound lanes at the time of the crash.
 
At that point, he struck a 2022 Freightliner with a trailer going northbound. The impact ejected him from his vehicle.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The Freightliner driver, 45-year-old Shiraz Ahmed from Chestermere, Alberta, Canada, was wearing a seatbelt and not hurt in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
