Two Injured, John Swinger Arrested in Head-On Crash in Spokane

 
SPOKANE, WA (January 4, 2024) – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old John L. Swinger after a head-on crash in the 4900 block of West Government Way on December 27.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 1:10 AM. Based on a report, Swinger was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
 
He was driving a Ford Escort when he collided with a Subaru Legacy head-on. Officials said speed and icy and slick roads were also possible factors in the wreck.
 
As a result, the driver and front passenger of the Subaru sustained injuries in the incident. Crews transported them to the hospital for treatment.
 
Following medical attention, officials then arrested and booked Swinger into the Spokane County Jail for Vehicular Assault. He is also being held on unrelated charges of Forgery, second-degree ID theft, second-degree theft, and second-degree possession of stolen property. Swinger’s total bond is set at $60,000.
