Joaquin Martinez Struck and Killed by Vehicles in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (January 23, 2024) Harris County Constable Pct. 1 identified Joaquin Martinez who died in a pedestrian accident in the 2500 block of West Mount Houston Road on January 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 9:50 PM. Based on a report, Martinez was walking outside of a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, Salvador Carranza Ventura hit him with his black GMC Sierra. The impact threw Martinez about 150 feet from the scene. Deputies said a driver in front of Ventura swerved to avoid Martinez, but he also struck the victim.
 
As a result, the victim sustained grave injuries in the incident.
 
Police did not suspect intoxication as a factor in the crash.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division. In addition, no other details are available.
