Jesus Martinez-Goana Killed in Fiery Accident on 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road

 
PHOENIX, AZ (April 17, 2024) — A 21-year-old man identified as Jesus Martinez-Goana died in a fiery crash on Friday, April 5.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the crash took place near 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road at around 8:30 p.m.
 
Detectives believe Martinez-Goana drove westbound on Thomas Road at a high rate of speed. At the same time, an eastbound SUV turned at 83rd Avenue. Then the two vehicles crashed.
 
After that, Martinez-Goana’s vehicle crashed into a tree and caught fire.
 
Phoenix firefighters responded and quickly extinguished the flames.
 
Police said Martinez-Goana was the sole occupant in the vehicle that had been on fire. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The man who driving the SUV sustained minor injuries.
 
The investigation of the crash is still underway.
