Jesus Camacho-Augustine Identified in Fatal Mesa Car Crash

 
MESA, WA (August 23, 2023) – Officers identified Jesus Camacho-Augustine who died in a crash on Highway 77 on August 7.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision involved five vehicles. Based on a report, the cars were driving southbound on the highway prior to the incident.
 
The first four vehicles stopped for Department of Transportation Traffic Control. The last car then crashed into the vehicle in front of it. This caused that vehicle to crash into the other vehicle, causing a chain-reaction crash.
 
As a result, Camacho-Augustine, a passenger in the second vehicle, suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Crews transported six other individuals to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
