Jesse Schweickert Killed, Matthew Geiger Arrested in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 410 [Pierce County, WA]

Jesse Schweickert Identified in Fatal Three-Car Crash in Pierce County

 
PIERCE COUNTY, WA (July 8, 2024) – Officials identified 46-year-old Jesse Schweickert of Buckley who died in a multi-car crash on Highway 410 on June 5.
 
The Washington State Patrol said the collision happened at Highway 167 shortly before 4:20 AM. Based on a report, Schweickert was driving a Honda Pilot west on Highway 410 before the crash.
 
At the same time, 37-year-old Matthew Geiger of Elma was driving a Chevrolet Blazer SUV north on Highway 167. While going eastbound on Highway 410, his car went off the roadway and into the median where he struck Schweickert’s Honda.
 
A third driver of a Ford was driving westbound when she crashed into the two vehicles. Responders found the Chevy on its side while the Honda was partially in the bushes.
 
As a result, Schweickert suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Officers found Geiger walking around the scene with an unfastened robe on. The trooper reported Geiger’s speech was slurred and he had bloodshot and watery eyes. They took him to
a local hospital for treatment before his arrest.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
