Jerry Hocking and Passenger Die in Wrong-Way Crash in Marlin

 
MARLIN, TX (November 5, 2024) — 39-year-old Jerry Hocking, of Mart, and another died in a wrong-way accident on Thursday, October 17.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at about 7:58 p.m. on Highway 6 near County Road 2885, south of Marlin.
 
After the initial investigation, DPS determined that a Cadillac CTS moved northbound onto the wrong side of the roadway. Then it crashed into a Chevrolet Spark driven by Hocking.
 
Police said Hocking and the passenger in the vehicle both died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Cadillac sustained a non-life-threatening injury. Paramedics transported them to Baylor Scott and White in Waco.
 
Officials will release the identity of the passenger in the Chevrolet after notifying their next of kin.
 
The investigation of the incident is still underway.
