BOULDER, CO (October 8, 2024) — A 38-year-old woman, Jennifer Newman, died in a pedestrian accident on Friday, September 27.
 
The Boulder Police Department, the incident happened north of the intersection of Broadway and Rayleigh Road at around 4:58 a.m.
 
Police said a 2004 Honda Accord moved north on Broadway. Then the driver hit Newman north of the crosswalk.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Newman dead on the scene.
 
The 27-year-old driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police. Police said there were no initial indications that speed or impairment was a factor in the collision.
 
Authorities closed Broadway northbound at Ash Avenue. They reopened at around 10:25 a.m.
