Two Vehicles Involved in Weatherford Fatal Accident on Farm-to-Market Road 730 near Rambling Trail

 
WEATHERFORD, TX (October 17, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in an accident on Azle Highway on October 14.
 
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers identified the victim as 50-year-old Jeffery K. Stephens of Watauga.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Rambling Trail around 3:35 PM.
 
Based on a report, Stephens was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer southbound on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he drove into the barrow ditch, overcorrected, and started to skid sideways across the roadway. Subsequently, it collided with a northbound pickup truck.
 
Stephens was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
The driver of the pickup truck, as a 33-year-old man from Azle, was airlifted to a local hospital with injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no further information is available.
