Father Jeffery Mo Shacklett, Son Jeffrey Buck Shacklett Identified in Fatal Saguache County Accident

 
SAGUACHE COUNTY, CO (March 23, 2023) – Officials identified a father and son – 45-year-old Jeffery “Mo” Shacklett and 16-year-old Salida High School freshman Jeffrey “Buck” Shacklett, as the victims who died in a crash on Highway 17 on March 11.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened at Milepost 110.7 around 11:00 AM. Based on a report, the Shackletts were in a southbound red Pontiac Vibe at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a red Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling northbound slid on wet pavement and traveled across the center lane into the southbound line. There, the Chevy struck the Pontiac.
 
As a result, the Shacklett father and son suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Crews sent the occupants of the Jeep, 33-year-old Thia Garcia, 39-year-old Isidro Garcia, along with 14-year-old Jazlin Garcia and 9-year-old Uria Garcia to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the crash is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
