James Young Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 31 in Tyler

 
TYLER, TX (November 1, 2022) – Police identified 58-year-old James Young as the victim who was struck and killed by two vehicles on Highway 31 on October 29.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just six miles east of Tyler.
 
Based on a report, Young was walking in the westbound lane of the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a 2021 Toyota Prius driven by 23-year-old Haley C. O’Brien of Bullard struck him. Subsequently, a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 28-year-old Justin M. Tracey struck him again.
 
As a result, Young suffered severe injuries in the incident. He later died at UT Health Hospital in Tyler.
 
As of now, the fatal crash remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
