James Gillon Killed in Accident on Highway 62 at CR 3800 [Lubbock County, TX]

James Gillon Identified in Fatal Accident in Lubbock County

 
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (October 30, 2023) – Officials identified 62-year-old James Franklin Gillon of Ralls who died in an accident on Highway 62 on October 22.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at CR 3800. Based on a report, Gillon’s vehicle was on CR 3800 at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, 63-year-old Eliopoldo Cazares Nieves was traveling west on Highway 62 in a 2018 Peterbilt Module Truck. Due to unknown reasons, he collided with Gillon’s vehicle when he turned left on CR 3800.
 
As a result, Gillon suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. DPS said he was not wearing his seatbelt, while Nieves was wearing his seatbelt.
 
The posted speed limit was 75 mph and the conditions were dry and clear.
