James Daniels Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 302 in Kermit

 
KERMIT, TX (May 29, 2024) – Officials identified 68-year-old James Dean Daniels of Midland who died in a crash on Highway 302 on May 22.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at CR 101 around 6:25 PM. Based on a report, Daniels was driving a 2022 Ford F-150 near the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and collided with a 2014 Peterbilt truck driven by 46-year-old Osmany Perera Suarez of Laredo. The truck was traveling westbound on Highway 302.
 
As a result, Daniels sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Suarez was transported to Wrinkler County Hospital in Kermit with minor injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
