Jaime Ruiz Identified in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 199 in Azle

 
AZLE, TX (February 6, 2025) – The Azle Police Department identified 67-year-old Jaime Ruiz who died in a crash on Highway 199 on January 25.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Commerce Street. Based on a report, Ruiz was driving a Toyota Tacoma west on the highway before the crash.
 
At the same time, a Ford F-250 carrying four passengers was driving east. Due to unknown reasons, the driver of the truck lost control. The truck then crossed over the median and crashed into the victim’s car.
 
As a result, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said Ruiz died at the scene.
 
Police said the passenger of the Tacoma sustained minor injuries.
 
The driver of the Ford F-250 stayed on the scene and cooperated with officers, including conducting a field sobriety test.
 
Azle PD stated that the accident is currently under investigation.
