Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver Joseph Jones Involved in Crash on East 42nd Street in Odessa

 
ODESSA, TX (February 6, 2025) – The Odessa Police Department arrested 20-year-old Joseph Michael Jones following a hit-and-run in the 1900 block of East 42nd Street on January 19.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 4:30 AM. Based on a report, Jones was driving an Audi at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado.
 
Witnesses at the scene told investigators that Jones left the scene on foot.
 
Emergency crews said the Silverado driver suffered serious head injuries in the incident. They transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.
 
During the investigation, officers found Jones on foot and smelled of alcohol. Police arrested and took him into custody for Collision Involving Serious Bodily injury and Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle.
