Jacob Schouten Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, WA (March 23, 2023) – The Kennewick Police Department identified 41-year-old Jacob Schouten of Pasco as the victim who died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 397 on March 11.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Gum Street shortly after 4:30 PM. Based on a report, Schouten was on his motorcycle going south on the highway prior to the crash.
As he approached Gum, a vehicle struck his motorcycle.
Police said Schouten was not wearing a helmet at that time. As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
Authorities said Schouten had the right of way but charges against the driver are pending at this time.
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
