Jacob Lewis Struck and Killed by Alan Hayes While Leaving Taylor Swift Concert in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (April 25, 2023) – A man experiencing car trouble was hit and killed by a suspected hit-and-run drunk driver on Highway 59 on April 22.
 
The Houston Police Department identified the victim as Jacob Lewis.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the victim was returning from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert at NRG Stadium with his sister, April Bancroft. Prior to the incident, their car had trouble and Lewis got out to push it near Shepherd Drive.
 
At that point, 34-year-old Alan Bryant Hayes in a Volkswagen Beetle came from behind, hit Lewis, and fled the scene.
 
As a result, Lewis died at the scene.
 
A tow truck driver in the area saw Hayes and followed him to the 4500 block of Caroline Street before calling the police. Hayes attempted to run away on foot but HPD officers apprehended him a short time after.
 
Officers arrested and took Hayes in custody on a $90,000 bond.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
