Israel Claros Detained after Fatal Hit-and-Run in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 17, 2024) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 62-year-old Israel Claros following a hit-and-run on Tropicana Avenue on January 9.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at Sandhill Road around 5:29 PM. Based on a report, a 42-year-old man was attempting to cross Tropicana Avenue outside of a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, Carlos struck him with his Toyota Corolla. Subsequently, Claros, who had a female passenger in his car, left the scene of the crash.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported the victim to Sunrise Hospital, where he later died. The Clark County Coroner’s office has not yet released the deceased’s identity.
 
Police later discovered the Toyota Corolla unoccupied in the southeast valley. They were able to identify and arrest Claros at his home.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
