Israel Alfaro, Another Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 16, 2024) — A 23-year-old identified as Israel Huerta Alfaro died in an accident on Sunday, September 8.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the accident happened shortly after 4:00 a.m. at Sahara Avenue and Glen Avenue, just west of Boulder Highway.
 
Investigators believe a Toyota Corolla traveled at a high rate of speed east on Sahara Avenue. Then it failed to negotiate a curve in the road. It resulted in the Toyota leaving the road and crashing through a short retaining wall.
 
After that, it went into the parking lot of a nearby Dotty’s. Then it subsequently struck the rear of a Cadillac XT6 exiting onto Sahara. Lastly, it continued east and struck a parked and unoccupied Nissan Altima.
 
Medical personnel pronounced Alfaro, who drove the Toyota, and a front passenger, a 31-year-old woman, dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported the rear passenger to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Cadillac was not hurt.
 
Because Alfaro died, police said they could not immediately determine if intoxication was a factor.
 
The fatalities mark the 104th and 105th traffic-related deaths in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2024.
