SANTA MARGARITA, CA (February 16, 2023) — Ismael Sodano and Antonio Solano sustained injuries while Luis Montesinos was arrested after a suspected DUI crash on Friday morning, February 10.

The incident occurred on Highway 58 east of Goldie Lane at about 7:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said 19-year-old Montesinos was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry westbound on Highway 58. Police believe that he was possibly under the influence of alcohol, traveled .

Montesinos — with 30-year-old Sodano, 29-year-old Solano, 34-year-old Alberto Montesino, and 32-year-old Manuel Tenorio as passengers — allowed the Camry to drift out of control.

The Camry traveled from the north shoulder to the eastbound lane before crossing over the double yellow lines.

Montesinos attempted to regain control of the Camry, but the vehicle hit an oak tree. The Camry then spun out of control, crashing into another oak tree before sliding down an embankment.

The accident left Montesinos and Sodano with major injuries while Solano suffered minor ones.

Meanwhile, the rest of the passengers inside the Camry were not injured.

Officials arrested Luis Montesinos on suspicion of driving under the influence.
