Minor Injuries Reported in School Bus Rollover Accident on 5 Freeway in Burlington

 
BURLINGTON, WA (July 21, 2023) — Minor injuries were reported after a school bus rollover accident on the 5 Freeway on Wednesday, July 5.
 
According to Washington State Patrol, the incident involved a school bus on the 5 Freeway near the Chuckanut Exit.
 
WSP tweeted that multiple adults and around 45 children were aboard the bus. The children were elementary students in a YMCA kids’ summer day camp.
 
According to WSP Trooper Kelsey Harding, there were minor injuries reported in the crash. Reports said one of the adult’s injuries was serious but not life-threatening.
 
Authorities closed the 5 Freeway to Highway 11 for approximately three hours during the on-scene investigation.
 
Harding tweeted that the parents picked up the children at Burlington High School.
