Pedestrian Critical after Hit-and-Run Accident on Martin Way East in Olympia

 
OLYMPIA, WA (November 7, 2022) – Police are now looking for a hit-and-run driver following a pedestrian accident on Martin Way East on November 5.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Duterrow Road Southeast around 3:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, deputies with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office found a 31-year-old man down in the roadway. Deputies spoke with witnesses at the scene who told them that the victim was legally crossing the street prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, a black sedan ran a red light and accelerated just before entering the intersection and hitting the man.
 
As a result, the victim sustained severe injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported the man to Providence St. Peter Hospital with critical injuries.
 
After hitting the pedestrian, the driver continued east on Martin Way without stopping.
