Bicyclist Dies in Fatal Accident on 16th Street in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (August 29, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department is now looking for a hit-and-run driver following a fatal bicycle accident on 16th Street on August 10.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Buckeye Road. Based on a report, a light-colored truck was traveling north on 16th Street when it hit the bicyclist and continued driving north.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered serious injuries in the incident. Phoenix police responded and confirmed that the victim later died at the hospital. They did not release the cyclist’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Police asked anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480 (WITNESS) or 480 (TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip.
