Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Loop 202 at Rural Road in Tempe

 
TEMPE, AZ (September 11, 2023) – Police confirmed that a hit-and-run driver died in a separate crash on Loop 202 on September 2.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Rural Road around 9:32 PM. Based on a report, the victim was previously involved in a minor hit-and-run crash.
 
Following the initial incident, the vehicle became disabled on Loop 202. Then another car hit it from behind.
 
As a result, the driver of the disabled vehicle died at the hospital. Officers did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the car that crashed into the stalled vehicle suffered minor injuries.
 
Police did not suspect impairment to be a factor in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
