Harley Sellers Dies in Scottsdale Car Accident, Hilario Cruz Arrested for DUI

 
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (May 3, 2023) — A man identified as 29-year-old Harley Sellers died in a DUI accident on Highway 87 on Saturday, April 8.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, troopers responded to reports of a crash on Highway 87, near McDowell Road and Gilbert Road at around 8:00 p.m.
 
Investigators said 26-year-old Hilario Ortiz Cruz drove a Ford F-150 southbound. Reports said he was unlicensed and impaired under the influence of both alcohol and drugs while driving.
 
Cruz allegedly lost control of the truck, crossed lanes, and then struck a Honda Accord driven by Sellers. Paramedics transported both drivers to a hospital where Sellers later died from his injuries.
 
Ortiz Cruz received treatment for his injuries and then officers took him into federal custody. He faces various charges including DUI, extreme DUI, and manslaughter.
