OAKLAND, CA (November 15, 2022) — 20-year-old Hamza Salih of Livermore died after being struck by a vehicle in a crash on Interstate 580 on Wednesday, November 9.

The fatal collision occurred near the 106th Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said Salih headed west on I-580 when he lost control of his motorcycle before slamming into a metal guardrail.

Salih was traveling westbound, but was ejected into the eastbound lane, where a vehicle hit him.

Salih was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information is released at this time. However, the cause and the factors surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
