Habimana Ciza Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run on 35th Avenue in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (November 28, 2023) – Officials identified 29-year-old Habimana Ciza who died in a hit-and-run on 35th Avenue on November 15.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Camelback Road at approximately 4:30 AM. Based on a report, Ciza was walking near the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck her. Phoenix police said the driver of the vehicle, 54-year-old Graciela Gracia-Marquez, left the scene following the crash.
 
As a result, Ciza suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to the hospital, where she later died.
 
Police arrested Gracia-Marquez later in the day.
