Gustavo Izaguirre Causes Fatal Crash on Central Street in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 13, 2023) – Officers arrested 51-year-old Gustavo Izaguirre following a fatal wrong-way crash in 1300 block of Central Street on December 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision around 10:55 PM. Based on a report, Izaguirre was driving a blue Dodge Dakota pickup truck southbound in the northbound lanes of the road before the crash.
 
Subsequently, he struck a blue Kia Sportage traveling northbound head-on.
 
As a result, the driver of the Kia sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Paramedics transported Izaguirre to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following his release from the hospital, officers arrested and booked Izaguirre into the Harris County Jail for intoxication manslaughter.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
