Gustavo Cervantes Identified in Fatal Accident on Monte Cristo Road in Hidalgo County

 
HIDALGO COUNTY, TX (October 20, 2022) – Police identified 68-year-old Gustavo Vasquez Cervantes of La Villa as the victim who died in a motorcycle accident on Monte Cristo Road on October 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Mile 4 West shortly before 12:38 AM.
 
Based on a report, a blue pickup truck and a Silver Chevrolet Silverado crashed after the pickup failed to yield at the intersection. Subsequently, the Chevrolet became disabled on eastbound lanes of Monte Cristo while the pickup fled the scene. Soon after, Cervantes approached the scene also on the eastbound lane of the road. Due to unknown reasons, his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle crashed with the Chevrolet.
 
As a result, Cervantes died at the Doctors Hospital at Renaissance.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no further information is available.
