Gregory Gardner Dead, Laura Galindo Hurt in Odessa Four-Vehicle Crash

 
ODESSA, TX (February 11, 2025) — A 60-year-old man, Gregory Wayne Gardner, died in a four-vehicle accident on Tuesday, February 4.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 6:20 a.m. at the intersection of West University Boulevard and Mercedes Avenue.
 
Investigators determined that 22-year-old Roberto Hernandez drove a 2015 GMC Sierra eastbound on University Boulevard while towing a 2014 GMC Sierra. Meanwhile, Gardner drove a 2002 Toyota Rav4 westbound. At the same time, 30-year-old Laura Ivonne Galindo also drove a 2023 BMW X3 westbound.
 
Authorities said Hernandez veered into the westbound lanes. After that, he collided with Galindo’s BMW. As a result, the towed 2014 GMC Sierra hit Gardner’s Rav4.
 
Gardner died at the scene. Meanwhile, emergency crews transported Galindo to Odessa Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
 
Hernandez and his passenger, 20-year-old Pedro Izaguirre Castillo, did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
 
The Texas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
