Goliath Cortez Identified in Fatal Crash on 16th Street in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (June 12, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 34-year-old Goliath Cortez who died in a head-on crash on 16th on June 5.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Elwood Street around 4:30 AM. Based on a report, Cortez was driving south on 16th Street at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a pickup truck.
 
As a result, Cortez suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital, where he later died.
 
The driver and passenger inside the pickup truck had minor injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
