MESA, AZ (June 3, 2024) – The Mesa Police Department confirmed that a 7-year-old girl died in a scooter accident on Broadway Road on May 23.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Horne around 6:15 PM. Based on a report, the little girl was riding her scooter in the driveway of one of the housing complexes in the area before the incident.
 
Subsequently, a man in an F-150 truck turned into the complex’s driveway against the sun. As a result, he hit the girl in the process before parking around the back of the building. Police said the driver only noticed the girl in the driveway when he walked to the front of the building.
 
He then called 911.
 
As a result, the girl suffered grave injuries and died. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver was not impaired and speed was not a factor in this case.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
