PHOENIX, AZ (November 17, 2023) – Phoenix Police identified 29-year-old Giovany Escobedo who died in a pedestrian accident on 83rd Avenue on November 10.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Osborn Road shortly after 6:00 PM. Based on a report, Escobedo was crossing the street in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle hit him when the signal said to not cross the road. Escobedo fell and he was again hit by an unknown number of other cars.
 
As a result, Escobedo suffered grave injuries in the incident. Firefighters treated him but he died at the scene.
 
The man who was driving the first car that hit Escobedo stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
