Gerald Womack Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in El Paso

 
EL PASO, TX (January 5, 2023) – El Paso police identified 76-year-old Gerald Womack as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on North Mesa Street on January 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in the 6000 block of Mesa Street at approximately 6:47 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was crossing the road in a non-designated crosswalk area prior to the crash. Subsequently, a 2021 GMC Terrain hit him.
 
Emergency crews transported Womack to the hospital with what was initially said as non-life-threatening injuries.
 
However, he died while being transported to another hospital.
 
The people in the GMC were an 80-year-old and an 82-year-old.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. No other information is known at this time.
