Gerald Rist Identified in Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash in Henderson County

 
HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (June 8, 2023) – Officials identified 59-year-old Gerald Patrick Rist of Dallas who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 19 on May 31.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 3:00 PM. Based on a report, Rist was driving southbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he moved into the northbound lane and struck the vehicle of 24-year-old Andrew Austin Scott of Log Cabin. Subsequently, a 16-year-old girl struck Rist’s vehicle.
 
As a result, Rist was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Scott and the teen were not hurt in the crash.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available at this time.
