Gary McShan Killed after Palestine Motorcycle Crash on Crockett Road

 
PALESTINE, TX (August 15, 2024) — A 59-year-old Elkhart man identified as Gary McShan died in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, August 30.
 
According to the Palestine Police, the accident happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Crockett Road near Loop 256.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a motorcycle and a Ford Explorer in the roadway. The motorcycle driver was unconscious when first responders arrived.
 
The investigation revealed that a silver Ford Explorer, driven by 40-year-old Cathrine Reagan, of Elkhart, pulled out of the Palestine Mall driveway onto Crockett Road. At the same time, McShan rode a motorcycle south on Crockett Road.
 
Then Reagan pulled out in the path of McShan. It resulted in the motorcycle hitting the driver’s side of the vehicle.
 
Emergency responders transported McShan to Palestine Regional by EMS. Medical officers pronounced him dead in the emergency room.
 
Police said Anderson County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Tammy Lightfoot conducted an inquest.
