Gage Sandoval, Crystal Mendoza and Javier Quinonez Killed, Pipper Satre Injured in Crash on Highway 82 [Plains, TX]

Gage Sandoval, Crystal Mendoza and Javier Quinonez Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 82 at FM 769 in Plains

PLAINS, TX (November 30, 2023) – Officials identified 20-year-old Gage Emijedio Sandoval of New Mexico, 40-year-old Crystal Mendoza of Clovis and 43-year-old Javier Esparza Quinonez who died in a crash on Highway 82 on November 27.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 769. Based on a report, Sandoval was driving a Jeep Compass with Mendoza and Quinonez.

The victims were heading north on FM 769 and did not stop at the stop sign. Subsequently, their Jeep collided with another vehicle.

As a result, Sandoval, Mendoza, and Quinonex suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, 23-year-old Pipper Madaly Satre of Lovington, sustained serious injuries. Paramedics transported her to Nor-Lea hospital district in Lovington for treatment. Her two passengers, a three-year-old girl, and a two-year-old girl, were not hurt in the crash.

As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
