Gael Carrasco Killed after Multi-Vehicle Accident in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (January 16, 2024) — An 18-year-old teen identified as Gael Carrasco died in a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday, January 10.
 
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the three-car crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. on La Cholla Boulevard at McCarty Road, just north of West Magee Road.
 
The PCSD said the first car involved may have traveled on La Cholla without headlights. At the same time, a second car drove in the other direction and made a left turn into the first car’s path. After that, a third car ran over some debris in the roadway and it became disabled.
 
According to PCSD, Carrasco was a passenger in the first vehicle. She sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
There were three other occupants in the first vehicle. The driver suffered serious injuries. Meanwhile, the two others sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
 
Two people inside the second car sustained minor injuries. The person in the third vehicle was not hurt.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
