Francisco Medellin Dead, Three Others Hurt in Houston Multi-Vehicle Crash

 
HOUSTON, TX (February 11, 2025) — 44-year-old Francisco Medellin sustained fatal injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday, January 31.
 
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash happened around 7:00 p.m. on South Sam Houston Parkway near Sabo Road.
 
Investigators determined that a black Lexus RX350 traveled at a high rate of speed. Then it crashed into a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Medellin that stopped at a red light.
 
The impact caused the Cavalier to flip and land on the sidewalk. Medellin sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
A 9-year-old passenger in the Cavalier suffered minor injuries. Paramedics arrived and then transported the child to a nearby hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the woman driving the Lexus sustained critical injuries.
 
Authorities said two other vehicles, a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Ford Crown Victoria, were also part of the crash. There were no reports of other injuries.
 
Officials closed the Beltway 8 feeder for hours as they conducted their investigation.
