Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 130 in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (December 11, 2023) – Officials confirmed that four people died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 130 on December 3.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at Maha Loop Road around 4:15 PM. Based on a report, a Peterbilt dump truck traveling northbound on the access road of Highway 130 collided with a vehicle.
 
The Austin-Travis County EMS said the crash pinned at least one person in the passenger vehicle.
 
As a result, the victim and three other occupants of that vehicle sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
 
Four ambulances, two commanders, and two STAR Flight helicopters responded to the scene. DPS said crews took one occupant in the passenger vehicle to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with serious injuries. A sixth person involved in the crash refused treatment.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
