Florentino Santos Identified in Fatal Crash in Benton County

 
BENTON COUNTY, WA (November 26, 2023) – A coroner identified 30-year-old Florentino Jacinto Santos of Mattawa who died in a rollover crash on Highway 240 on November 18.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened about 17 miles west of Richland around 2:22 AM. Based on a report, a car that Santos was in was heading westbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it left the road around milepost 5 and rolled over to a stop.
 
As a result, Santos sustained grave injuries and died in the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt at that time.
 
The driver of the car sustained unknown injuries.
 
WSP confirmed that drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident but charges were not yet known.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
