Florencio Lagara-Perez Identified after Fatal Goleta Single-Car Crash

 
GOLETA, CA (May 26, 2023) – Officials identified 55-year-old Florencio Lagara-Perez of Santa Barbara who died in a rollover crash on Fairview Avenue on May 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the on-ramp to northbound Highway 101 around 5:15 AM. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger in a 1999 Ford Ranger driven by a 64-year-old Santa Barbara man.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the Ranger spun out, rolled over and landed on its roof off the right shoulder after it entered the onramp.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced Lagara-Perez dead at the scene.
 
The driver, a 64-year-old Santa Barbara man, sustained minor injuries. Both men were reported to have been wearing seatbelts at the time.
 
Investigators did not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
